Show participants a Coming soon page while your MyRun event is a Draft, collect their emails, and notify them once the photos are published.
Until you publish at least one album, your event is a Draft and the gallery link and widget show a Coming soon page instead of photos. You can personalize that page and, if you want, let participants leave their email to be told when the photos are live.
Event status at a glance
- Draft: no album is published yet. Participants see the Coming soon page.
- In progress: some albums are published, others are still drafts. Participants see the published ones, with a note that more photos are coming.
- Completed: all albums are published, or you marked the event as completed. Participants see every published album, without the note. Unpublished albums stay hidden.
The status is set automatically from your albums' Published switches; it appears next to the event name and on its card in the Events list.
If some albums will never be published, click Mark as completed next to the status of an In progress event and confirm. Reopen undoes it. An event with no published album always stays a Draft.
Set up the Coming soon page
- Open your event and click the Settings tab (or expand Optional settings while creating the event).
- In Optional settings, fill in what you need:
Collect emails lets participants leave their email on the Coming soon page (off by default);
Coming soon message replaces the default text (plain text, max 500 characters);
Coming soon date shows "Photos expected by ..." in the participant's language, hidden once the date has passed;
Photos page URL is the page where you embed the gallery, used as the link in the notification email (must start with
https://; if empty, the MyRun page is used). - Click Save.
Notify the participants who signed up
- Open the event's Albums tab. While the event is a Draft, a card shows how many people are waiting, for example "3 people are waiting for the photos", with the hint "Publish at least one album to notify subscribers."
- Publish at least one album: switch on Published on its card, or click Publish (N) to publish all draft albums at once.
- On the same card, click Notify N subscribers.
- Confirm with Send emails. Each person receives one email saying the photos are live.
Good to know
- Notifying is manual: nothing is sent until you click Notify, so you can finish uploading and checking photos first.
- Each person is notified only once. People who sign up later appear as "not yet notified" and you can notify them with the same button.
- Turning Collect emails off stops new signups; people who already signed up stay on the list.
