How to import photos from Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive

Paste a shared Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive folder link into a MyRun album to import every photo, and keep the folder synced for 14 days.

If your photographer already keeps the photos in a shared cloud folder, you don't need to download and upload them again. Paste the folder link and MyRun imports the photos into the album. With Auto sync on, it keeps watching the folder and brings in new photos as they are added.

Steps

  1. Ask the photographer to share the folder as "anyone with the link" (view access is enough) and send you the folder link.
  2. Open the album, click Add Photos and pick Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive. (You can also open Upload Link → Cloud Folders and click Add folder.)
  3. Paste the link into Folder link. MyRun checks it right away and shows what it found, for example "Finish line · Google Drive · 1,240 photos found · 300 already in this album".
  4. Optionally fill in Photographer (Optional) to credit the photos.
  5. Leave Auto sync off to import the folder once, or turn it on if the photographer will keep adding photos.
  6. Click Add and import N photos. The import runs in the background: you can close the dialog and follow the progress in the album.

Good to know

  • Subfolders are included. Only photos are imported: videos, documents, hidden files and files over 30 MB are left out.
  • No duplicates: photos already in the album are skipped, so adding the same folder again or two folders that overlap is safe.
  • Auto sync watches the folder for 14 days and imports whatever is new. The folder row shows Live with a green dot, and Expires on shows when it ends. Use Reset to 14 days to continue.
  • Sync now (the icon on the folder row) checks the folder again at any time, with or without auto sync.
  • The link must be a folder link, not a link to a single photo. MyRun tells you if the link is wrong, private, or points to a deleted folder.
  • OneDrive: only personal accounts work. OneDrive for work or school links are not supported.
  • If a folder row says some photos were not imported because the hosting plan is full, extend your hosting and click Sync now (see How to extend photo hosting).
  • Disconnect (from the folder's gear) removes the folder from the album. The folder at the provider stays as it is, and photos already imported stay in the album.
  • An album can have up to 20 cloud folders.
